Light ...

 I stumbled across the shoot of this fabulous apartment in the 14th arrondissement in Paris today and was instantly transported back to my summer trip to France last year - on each day as we visited castles and strolled the lane ways of Paris we remarked how bright and clear the days were...I'm sure it isn't like that all the time but that is the lasting impression in my mind ...

 Courtyard to die for... even at dusk the light is beautiful ...

And this simple dining area with those gorgeous high windows - only in Paris would that light be so bright xx

Hmmm, I feel I have unconsciously created Geek Week here at White & Wander ...

It's no secret that I love a dash of anatomical, anthropological, astrological and pharmacological paraphernalia in my decorating, have a passion for Darwin, and am constantly drawn to decorate my whole world like a British asylum... I believe the best study's are cultivated by the most scatter-brained nerds... do you?

Check out the Royal Society, turbo geek website for more nerdy stuff... their time line of the worlds greatest scientific achievements since 1650 is especially fab.

To further enhance my new zoological theme, I will also require this drop dead gorgeous map of the London Zoological Gardens drawn in 1894.

Hippo ...

While a real life hippo is of course much cuter (if one ignores the danger factor), I wouldn't pass up a hippo skull, or at least this gorgeous illustration to frame for my rambly study...

Did you know the zoological term for the hippo family is omnivora? I love that word, new favourite.
