Love ...

Oh, happy news!

Last week my beautiful sister Georgie and her hansome beau Dave announced they are engaged to be married (the same date as my brother got engaged last year... I feel a trend emerging, remember this future husbands) ... we are tickled pink for them and I'm undeniably thrilled to be styling another happy family  wedding...

They have their hearts set on a barn in the Adelaide Hills ... fellow SA crowd, have you got any ideas that aren't the usual venues?

  1. That sounds like a great venue to me. Happy New Year and that's great news.

  2. Wow, was that just a coincidence? I love engagements, the sudden excitement and the beginning of creating the perfect day. Good luck finding the perfect venue!

  3. Hi Emma,
Great news and very exciting for your family!
I have been reading your wonderful blog for awhile, and recently started my own so wanted to drop you a line..
My best friend lives in adelaide (I'm in melbourne), and when I visit her we go bargain-hunting at your antique stores, next time I'd love your tips on where to go!
Love for you to stop by sometime at my little blog, Naomi

  4. While I am not part of the "fellow SA crowd" anymore {now that I live in Melbourne} but here is my 2 pennies worth!
Last year we went to a fab wedding at the Chaff Shed at Oliver's winery that was amazing because it was just an almost {and deliciously so} falling down stone shed at McLaren Vale. The most wonderful spot, with vines, gum trees, old rose gardens and a lake. And absolutely not spoilt or touristy, unlike lots of these spots. It was entirely illuminated with candles - what an atmosphere!

  10. Rightyo, we all know I love a wedding and am tickled pink that we get to help brainstorm for another with you!

Try AL-RU Farm - stunning. Golding Wines is also tres pretty. What about Kingsbrook Estate? The Stables at Penny's Hill could be stunning. Such fun!

  11. Hi Emma,
I lived with Georgie when we first moved to Canberra in 2006 - pls pass on my congratulations!
I have recently seen photos from a wedding at Al-Ru Farm at One Tree Hill - it's owned by Ruth Irving and looked quite divine and very up your alley - a barn decorated with gilded mirrors!
    Love your blog as always,
    x Eira
